Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this service.
What are the 14 declarable allergens?
Celery, cereals containing gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soybeans, and sulphur dioxide. All must be declared if present in your food.
What is Natasha's Law?
Natasha's Law (October 2021) requires food businesses to provide full ingredient labelling on pre-packed for direct sale (PPDS) food. This affects any food that is packaged before a customer orders it, even if made on the premises.
Do I need an allergen matrix if I am a small business?
Yes. Every food business must be able to provide allergen information to customers. An allergen matrix is the most practical way to do this and is expected by EHOs during inspections.
